The Arizona Open Water Swim Series FINALE is slated for November 8, two weeks before the 2010 Arizona Ironman at Tempe Town Lake.  Whether you’re getting ready for AZIM or you are securing your lead in the Open Water Swim Series, we hope to see you at the lake for the series finale at Tempe Town Lake.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

The event venue and central staging area is located at the grassy area in front of Hayden Ferry, the KPMG Building just east of the Mill Ave Bridge. The course again is a 1000m loop.

1000, 2000 or 4000 meter open water swim distances OR combine the 1000 and 4000 to compete in this years 5K distance (times will be added together)

Parking Parking is available at Lot 59 or at the Hayden Ferry Parking Garage in the NE corner of Mill Ave and Rio Salado Parkway.

  6. 11:35 a.m.  4000 meter start - Non-Wetsuit Division

  7. Results will be posted at the event as well as on www.dcbadventures.com


Body marking will be available all morning. For timing purposes it is very important to have the back of your hand numbered.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

FOR THE FINALE ONLY! We are proud to be sanctioned by US MASTERS (USMS) and USA Triathlon. One of the many roles played by USMS and USAT is that of insurance provider for this race. As such USMS and USAT requires that every participant be either (1) an annual member and provide proof of membership at packet pick up, or (2) purchase a one day membership for $10. Entry fee event credit:

We don’t like to come across as rude, but we spend an enormous amount of time planning events, and if you wish to withdraw from an event we no longer refund your entry. You may receive an event credit to a future DCB Extreme Adventures event. You must notify us in writing (email- shannon@dcbadventures.com or 891 E. Warner Road #100-138, Gilbert, AZ 85296) of your intent to withdraw and meet one of the following criteria.

  1. 1)If for any reason, you notify DCB Extreme Adventures more than 30 days prior to the event date you will receive a 50% credit towards a future DCB Extreme Adventures Event.. This credit only covers the race entry fee. USAT one-day licenses, processing fees and online registration fees will not be included with your credit.

  2. 2)If you have a medical reason, you will need to provide a signed doctors letter advising us that you are not able to participate. DCB Extreme Adventures must receive this letter at least 14 days prior to the event date in order for you to receive your 50% race event credit. This credit only covers the race entry fee. USAT one-day licenses, processing fees and online registration fees will not be included in your credit.

  3. 3)Extenuating Circumstances: If you have an injury or a member of your immediate family has a death or a medical emergency and it is within 14 days of the scheduled event and greater than 72 hours prior to the event, you will need to notify us in writing. The race director will consider each request on a case-by-case basis for future DCB Extreme Adventures event credit. No credits will be issued with less than 72 hours of race date.


  4. Please be advised that the sanctioning body considers transferred event entry fraud. If you sell or give your race slot away, both you and the person using the race slot are subject to a 2-year suspension from racing at any USAS sanctioned race. PLEASE contact us if you intend on doing something like this and we will do it the right way.

REFUNDS

There are four Divisions for the 2009 Arizona Open Water Swim Series:


- 2000 meter wetsuit and non-wetsuit

- 4000 meter wetsuit and non-wetsuit


USAT Swimmers will be included in Timing, however not included in the Series points. So if you are in the running, finish out the season as a USMS athlete and leave your card in your wallet.


Each event, we will give every finisher a commemorative award. Swimmers will collect series points where first place receives 10 points, second 9 points and so on... At the end of the season at Tempe Town Lake, series awards will be given three deep in each 5-year age category. Swimmers do not have to complete a minimum number of events to be eligible.
